ROSTOCK, Germany—Karin Vogel wakes up in this graffiti-pocked east German city and drives to the hospital where she is a therapist who counsels elderly people in chronic pain.
If a few thousand people would just disappear, Ms. Vogel would be leading a far more enchanting life. She would be the queen of England.
Everyone knows that should 85-year-old Queen Elizabeth II die, her son Charles, if living, would succeed her. Second in line is Charles's son Prince William, whose wedding to Kate Middleton Friday will be a global media event. William's little brother, Prince Harry, is No. 3.
Ms. Vogel, 38, holds a different distinction: By the account of some genealogists, she is the last person in line to the throne.

When Grandma is Away, The Princes Will Play
The 85-year-old monarch will head out of the capital with the Duke of Edinburgh for a private weekend, allowing the newlyweds to party the night away at a black tie evening reception with their friends after the royal wedding.
A Buckingham Palace spokeswoman said: ''The Queen will host the lunchtime reception and then the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will depart for a private weekend.''
The Queen will miss Prince Harry's traditional best man's speech in the evening, meaning he will not have to tone down his delivery for fear of offending his grandmother.

That Blessed English Weather...Umbrellas May Be Needed!
Apart from flunkeys with oversized umbrellas having to protect Kate's hair and gown on the short walk from her car to the Westminster Abbey entrance, a shower would also spoil the couple's plans for an open-top coach journey back to Buckingham Palace.
The entire Royal Family will travel in covered coaches if it rains, a St James’s Palace spokesman confirmed yesterday.
After a scorching bank holiday weekend and the hottest April day for more than 60 years, rain would be a major disappointment for William – who insisted on a spring wedding despite warnings from aides that the decision could backfire and reinforce Britain's rainy reputation in front of a worldwide audience of two billion.

Blessed Art Thou Among Women...Felipe, "Last man Standing..."
Spain's Princess Letizia stepped out to Easter Mass in Majorca a.k.a. Mallorca on Sunday -- along with Prince Felipe, their daughters (Infantas) Leonor and Sofia, Queen Sofia, Princess Elena and Princess Cristina. Whew! What a crowd.
Letizia picked pants for the occasion, paired with a floral print blouse, a camel jacket and a beige clutch. Felipe went for a gray suit and the Infantas looked adorable in dresses, cardigans, white socks and Mary Janes.
Lost on this glamorous menagerie of wonderfully dressed women, don Felipe, who seems destined to be the last male Bourbon to rule Spain.

Catherine, a Modern Bride, "Will NOT Obey!"
In Friday's "Good Morning America" royal wedding roundup, we learn that Queen Elizabeth II has officially given her permission for Prince William and Catherine to marry -- just in time for the nuptials which are now one week away. Wills and Kate apparently discussed public scrutiny and how it will impact their marriage with the Archbishop of Canterbury, then there's the requisite discussion of Kate's weight and a revelation that Issa designer Daniella Helayel scored an invitation to the ceremony (cue a new round of speculation that she's The Dress Designer).
Perhaps most interestingly, Nick Watt reports that Kate will "love," "honor" and "keep" her husband in her vows, however she will not "obey," breaking with tradition. Diana also decided not to use the "o" word at her 1981 wedding, but subsequent royal wives including Sarah Ferguson and Sophie Rhys-Jones reverted to the classic parlance, the Daily Mail points out.
