+ Countess Celia von Bismarck (1971-2010)

The former wife of the Hereditary Count of Bismarck, neé Celia Demaurex, passed away from cancer.

Celia Bismarck,  a staple at many society events around Germany, was born in 1971. her death took place in Geneva on December 17. In 1997 she married, as his second wife, Hereditary Count Carl-Eduard von Bismarck. Their marriage, which was childless, lasted until the couple's divorce in 2004.

The late countess had suffered from skin cancer previously. This time around she faced pancreatic cancer, which unfortunately metastasized and brought her a quick end. Celia Bismarck was reported to have died in her mother's arms.

  1. Early end to young life is also tragic...we witnessed two other equally sad deaths this year, those of Prince Alexis zu Windisch-Grätz and the Hereditary Prince of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg...awful young, such promise yet to be fulfilled!
