Biography of Princess Margaret of Hesse and by Rhine

Born a commoner, Margaret Geddes, through a prolific life dedicated to the well-being of her husband's Hessian compatriots, died a princess.

In 1937 in the midst of tragedy Lady Margaret Geddes, Peg to the family and friends, married Prince Ludwig of Hesse and by Rhine. Her future mother-in-law along with her son, his wife, and the couple's two young sons, died in a fire air crash over Steen Belgium. The Hessians were en route to London to be present at the Hesse/Geddes wedding.
